Jembatan Buatan Pakiah Sokan

Jambatan Aka ( Jembatan Akar, red) di Pesisir Selatan kemasyurannya sudah lama tersiar ke mana-mana. Jembatan yang terletak di Kampung Pulut-pulut Kecamatan Bayang Utara Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan ini sangat unik. Jembatan ini terbentuk dari jalinan akar pohon beringin yang telah hidup 90-an tahun lalu, sehingga disebut jembatan akae. Di samping dapat menyeberangi sungai, berjalan di Jembatan Akar ini sangat menarik. Dari atas jembatan, kita dapat memandang aktivitas masyarakat di sekitar Batang Bayang (Sungai Bayang) dengan segala tingkah polahnya. Semilir angin yang berhembus lirih berasal dari dedaunan pohon beringin yang berayun berirama. Jika telah menginjakkan kaki di jembatan ini, rasanya enggan untuk beranjak turun.

Untuk menjangkau objek wisata tersebut, kita dari Kota Padang harus menempuh perjalanan sepanjang ±65 Km atau 24 Km dari Kota Painan. Jembatan ini memiliki panjang sekitar 30 meter, lebar lantai satu meter, dan tinggi dinding pengaman kurang lebih satu meter. Ketinggiannya dari dasar sungai sekitar enam meter. Menurut masyarakat setempat, Jembatan Akar itu awalnya dirancang Pakiah Sokan yang kerap dipanggil Angku Ketek bersama masyarakat Desa Pulut-pulut. Pakiah Sokan, seorang yang berilmu tinggi dan sering memberikan pengajian. Terbit ide untuk membuat Jembatan Akar, setelah titian bambu yang biasa digunakan masyarakat sering hancur dan diseret air bah ketika Sungai Batang Bayang meluap.

Pohon beringin itu, konon katanya juga ditanam oleh Pakiah Sokan. Selain pohon beringin, ia juga menanam pohon asam kumbang, tak jauh dari titian bambu. Perguliran waktu tak terasa, pohon itu terus kembang da tumbuh. Akar-akarnya tak mencapai tanah, lantaran dihalangi bebatuan Batang Bayang. Akar-akar itu bergelantungan, dan Pakiah Sokan beserta masyarakat dengan tekun memasukkan dan melilitkan akar tadi ke dalam titian bambu. Tahun demi tahun akar-akar kedua pohon itu terus tumbuh dan berkembang, menjadi panjang, besar, dan lebat, sehingga lilitan akar tadi telah menjelma menjadi jembatan yang kokoh.

Untuk membuat akar tidak putus, karena terus diinjak, masyarakat memasang tali penyangga yang terbuat dari baja. Lantaran telah dijadikan objek wisata, pemerintah setempat bermaksud membangun jembatan gantung untuk digunakan masyarakat membawa hasil bumi. Saat ini di Jembatan akar tersebut telah disediakan berbagai fasilitas di antaranya, mushala, toilet, tempat parkir dan pelindung. Direncanakan juga akan membangun fasilitas lainnya.(mahardikawati)
